MacDonald and Huxley
So, I hope you enjoyed, as I did, experiencing the literary dialectic between George MacDonald's Princess & Curdie and T.H. Huxley's essays, particularly "On the Physical Basis of Life." Whether direct or indirect, the exchange is greatly illuminating and represents a level of sophistication on the part of the Victorian readership which, though not native in our own culture, can be learned, appreciated....and emulated by us.
